Everyone dreams…. everyone envisions the colours of success
Everyone dreams…. everyone imagines the sounds of success
Everyone dreams….everyone wishes… everyone hopes
Not everyone believes
You may have a dream to visit the beautiful lands of Makkah and Madina to perform Hajj or Umrah; to marry a spouse best suitable for you and start a loving family.
You may have a dream to launch a successful business and attain financial freedom; to graduate with honours in the degree of your choice.
You may have a dream to shed yourself of undesirable weight; to reach a level of energy and heighten your daily productivity.
You may have a dream…
What then is stopping you from transforming your dream into reality? Lack of resources - time, finances, energy, or abilities – is the number one excuse you or I have ever given. The answer, however, is indeed within you: the lack of empowering beliefs.
It’s ironic that we in fact do live in an abundance of beliefs, limiting ones that is. Is a degree in medicine or engineering the only way to have a successful career? Is memorizing the Qur’aan only for those who started young? Is it truly too late for a woman above the age of 30 to get married?
With such limiting beliefs, our communities face the danger of falling into the pits of dormancy and stagnation. This state of static repetition through length of time will cause the hearts to harden, the standards to lower, and the dreams to desist.
Imagine yourself encamped with 299 other Sahaba the night before the Battle of Badr knowing very well you will be fighting 1000 armoured men tomorrow. Imagine then that you engulfed yourself and those around you in the limiting belief: “we lack resources; we will surely fail.” Would we then come to know of the Battle of Badr in which 300 Muslims defeated 1000 disbelievers of the Quraish? I doubt it.
If everyone did believe in the impossibility of their dreams, history would not have witnessed the countless breakthroughs of mankind: from inventions and discoveries to human rights and freedoms. Undoubtedly, the journey to achieving our dreams will be faced with obstacles and hurdles, which to those with limiting beliefs will perceive as cause to give up. It is at this crucial point that we must constantly reframe and garner more empowering beliefs, such as “life’s hurdles challenge us to jump even higher”; or “the struggles of a journey makes the destination that much sweeter”.
I implore you; ask yourself again, “What is truly preventing you from achieving your dreams?”
Now, ask yourself one more time, “What is ultimately preventing you from achieving your dreams?”
If you dig deep enough, I am positive that you will find a limiting belief uncovered. Once it is found, pluck it out from its root and plant in its place a counteracting and empowering belief. Close your eyes and envision the infinite number of possibilities achievable with this belief; make your dream brighter, the colours stronger, the sounds louder, and the scents more intense while you step into it. You will surely notice a difference in your physiology and your focus.
Now that you believe, pump your heart with fervour, shatter your current standards and rise far above them, and turn your dreams into a reality.
Let’s take action together.
